Another “Cry In The Dark”? (2)

A week ago, I blogged here about how the increasingly feverish speculation over the alleged involvement of missing Madeleine McCann’s parents in her supposed death reminded me of the Australian case of Lindy Chamberlain. Today it is reported that the Australian mother herself, now 59 year old Lindy Chamberlain-Creighton, has spoken out in support of Kate and Gerry McCann.
Whatever the outcome in this awful case – and sadly we may never know the full truth – there will need to be a serious inquest into the role of the media in reporting as fact what is often rumour and in jumping to conclusions that are unsupported by evidence. For my part, I still believe in the McCann’s innocence.

With all the suggestions of political meddling, I would suggest Lord Lucan would be a better comparison

I don’t know what to believe since there are many unexplained details. However, if the McCanns are proved to be guilty, then I think the world will become an even more cynical place than it is already. We won’t be able to trust anyone or anything. I desperately want them to be found innocent, and for Maddie to be found alive and well. Sadly I don’t think this is going to happen.
